SECAUCUS, NEW JERSEY
Introduction
Secaucus, pronounced “SEE-kaw-cus”, is a city of over 16,000
located within the
New Jersey
Meadowlands
. In recent years, it developed into a commuter town and is
considered the most suburban of all the townships in Hudson County. It has several substantial shopping malls and outlet
centers, namely the Secaucus Plaza in downtown and Harmon Cove Outlet Center. Secaucus
is the site of a number of corporate centers of operation like Goya Foods,
AT&T, and Newegg. It contains an extensive road and railway system which
makes it a major distribution and shipping hub.

History
The area surrounding Secaucus was purchased by Peter Stuyvesant,
the Director General of New Netherland in 1658. It was later incorporated as a
township in 1917.
